Bath Place Oxford

One of the smallest streets in Oxford, Bath Place. It has been a couple of years since I posted a photo of this little street, see here. Looking around the internet for a little more information on Bath Place, I found this interesting page about the history of Bath Place and the little hotel that is down there. Have a look here. Any visitor to Oxford this summer, should have a wander down Bath Place, there is a great Oxford Pub down the alley, The Turf Tavern.

Turf Tavern Real Ale Festival Starts Today

I was a little early for the Real Ale Festival at the Turf Tavern which kicked off today at 5pm. I have been to the past couple of these and they have a great selection of ale from around the country. The only problem is that they sell out of the popular ales very early so if you are interested in Real Ale's or are just in Oxford looking for a nice pint, pop into the Turf Tavern over the next three days, but be early for the popular ales, I be there tomorrow for sure.

Beer barrels at the Turf Tavern

I need to drink beer
As I'm doing my taxes...
Can I deduct that?

If you take a look at this picture you would probably think that a lot of people are preparing to do their taxes already. I came across this Haiku last night at the Beer Haiku Daily. It was the first time I read a couple of these Japanese poems and some of them actually made me smile. There are even Haiku's with some good advice:

A bit of advice
If you want to drink all day
You must start early

Turf Tavern Real Ale

One of the better places I think in Oxford for Real Ale and nice atmosphere very close to the city centre would have to be the Turf Tavern, and the other weekend they had a Real Ale Festival with about 30 guest Ales on tap, unfortunately I did not manage to sample them all, but I get have a good try!
