Down By The Oxford Canal
Just took this while out on a ride around Oxford, the canal looks wonderful at this time of year. The traffic on the canal slows down a lot over the winter period with boats not being able to get on to the River Thames. This stillness coupled with the trees turning Yellow and Orange make the area very special. I am not sure what I like more, the Winter or the Summer on the canal?

I would take the Autumn and Winter. It's a quieter and more reflective period. The summer is always full of tourists (like me) and "Inspector Lewis" camera crews.
Beautiful color!!!
very, very nice scene! ... And isn't this where thet found that body on "Morse"? :D
I just discovered your blog and hungrily gobbled up all your old posts. As a photographer, and as someone who spent the best year of her life in Oxford and misses it terribly, I can't think of any blog I could enjoy more. Thank you!
Same here most of the boats are moored up now for the winter, its really dropped off over the last couple of weeks. But as your scene shows it can be just as scenic at this time. I must get down to the Leeds canal for my Leeds photography. blog, Paul.
