International Oxford
Oxford is very international, as you can see from all the flags that the flag seller is selling on Queen Street. With all the students and visitors to Oxford you can always hear languages other than English being spoken in the streets, which is other bonus for Oxford.

Kennington Village Flag
Kennington, is small village just out side of Oxford, but within 5km’s of the centre of Carfax. I was out there today and noticed that on the community centre they have their own flag, which I think is great, as I love flags being flown. Tried to get a good shot of it, but it was a little hard. More information to follow when I research more about the design etc

Magdalen College Road Works
There is always road works in Oxford, today they are working close to Magdalen Bridge in front of Magdalen College, which is a very busy spot at the best of times. As you can see from the photo this is not small job with half the road dug up already. Lets hope that they have not problems and finish the works on time.

Sir James Murray OED
Around Oxford you will see Blue Plaques on homes where people who help shape Oxford once lived. You can see these plaques in many places around the UK, this one at Sir James Murray’s former house on the Banbury Road was one of the first in Oxford. You can see that it is all blue with white lettering, most of the other in the City have a white boarder, not sure why this one is different?
Anything addressed to ‘Mr Murray, Oxford’ would always find its way to him, and such was the volume of post sent by Murray and his team that the Post Office erected a special post box outside Murray’s house at his request..
Murray continued his work on the dictionary, age and failing health doing nothing to diminish his enthusiasm for the work he had devoted much of his life to, the Oxford English Dictionary. He died on 26th July 1915 and is buried in Oxford.

Location Location Location
Well that's what they say in the Real Estate game! Was out this morning in the Donnington Bridge area and popped in to see the Scout Hut of the 22nd Oxford Sea Scouts, right on the River Thames, what a great location, never been down this way before, this morning the weather was great and the River, which is behind the Hut, was looking very full.

White Oxford
Sorry about no blog yesterday, busy day and night. As you can see we had a little bit of snow over night on Tuesday, this photo was taken in Hobson Road looking towards Middle Way on Wednesday Morning. The snow coursed problems around Oxford and other parts of the UK, mainly on the transport system with Roads, Railway and Airports closed. Saw loads of Snow Men around the place.

Sunrise On The River
Today is going to be a sad day, as the friends of our good friend Tony Faulkner will be giving him a send off this afternoon. Tony was an Oxford man, who I remember telling me had always lived within 2 miles of Carfax all his life. Tony you will be missed by everyone who you knew, one of the best, we will miss you Tony....

The Pain, St Clements
The Plain acquired its name when St Clement's Church was removed from this site, leaving a wide open expanse surrounded by buildings. Victoria Fountain, built in 1899 on the site of the former St Clement's toll house, it was a belated commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria that had taken place in 1897, and provided a drinking fountain for people and troughs of water for horses. The Plan today is a very busy roundabout with the three roads to, Cowley, Headington, and Iffley staring here.

Covered Market Oxford
The Covered Market in Oxford is one of the city’s best kept secrets and a place where you will find just about everything you need. This photo was taken today out the front of the florist, I really enjoy visiting the Covered Market, you can always find something new, and there are lots to see, plus it is right in the city centre.
