New O'Neill's Has Opened Less The Live Music

I posted back in August that the very popular George Street pub O'Neill's had closed for refurbishment and was due to open on the 22nd of September. Well I am please to report that the refurbishment has be completed and it did reopen as advertised yesterday on the 22nd. During the refurbishment they have unfortunately in my opinion, removed a bit of the soul of this old place, it is now more of a restaurant than a pub, and from what I can see is no place for the live music. O'Neill's always had a great line up of cover bands playing on Thursdays, Friday and Saturday but I guess this will be no more.

Australia V Ireland In South Parks AFL/GAA

Saw a hybrid game of Australia Rules Football and Gaelic Football played between students from Australia and Ireland in University Parks today. Apparently this match happens every year, with Australia defending there title, at the break Australia was behind, not sure of the final results, but I will post when I find out. Good to see this mixture of game being played in University Parks.

Green New Theatre Oxford For Riverdance

Noticed that the lights at the New Theatre on George Street tonight were Green!  Then I also noticed that Riverdance Farewell Tour is playing all this week, so think the Theatre staff are putting on an Irish theme around the Theatre. Nice to have a evening/night shot for the Oxford Daily Photo.
