Bubble Feet? What's This About?

I am sure this going to be just a passing craze, Bubble Feet which I spotted today in the Clarendon Centre. If you have not seen this before, as I hadn't, you place your feet in a fish tank and the fish are attracted to the dead skin on your feet and nibble at them. The fish are called Doctor Fish and only nibble dead skin cells, apparently this is common in Turkish Spa's, however this treatment is banned in the US and Canada. Was interesting seeing the reaction from those having the treatment done, let me tell you not everyone enjoyed it.

Banned in North America, that is funny. I'd try this I had the chance.

I'd give it a try - my heels are terribly dry right now - the fish would have a feast!

I've actually seen this before--on a city daily photo blog, of course! Menton Daily Photo:

I think it would feel...interesting. But since I live in North America I'll have to wait until I'm on vacation to try it.

There are a couple of these places here in Leeds. I nearly got a picture in one a couple of weeks back there was a bridal fair nearby and I was going to get one of the models to pose in the nearby tank but the store owner wanted money so I said no way, pity though it would have been a great shot.

Correction. It is not banned in the U.S. and Canada. It is currently in 37 states across the U.S. and only not allowed in the other states because it is a foreign fish and not enough research has been done on this practice. In Canada it is allowed in Quebec and Vancouver and not the others for the exact same reason as the U.S.
