Early Morning Over Abingdon Road Allotments

As in the Elton John song Best Part Of The Day, this photo was taken just as the sun was starting to appear over Oxford this morning. I was on the Abingdon Road on the way to work, when the the first rays of sun light appeared on the allotments along the Abingdon Road. Love the mist in this photo, and the light. What a beautiful day today turned out to be, not a cloud in the sky all day.

End Of The Day At The Cowmead Allotments

A couple heading home from there allotment at Cowmead while another holder cycles past towards his. I think the allotment system for growing your own fruit and vegetables in an urban environment is becoming more and more popular. If I had the time, I think I would enjoy potting about on an allotment. I think I will look into this when I am start to get to retirement age. I missed the open day at the allotments over the weekend, so decided to get a shot today of the area, hope you enjoy.

Early Morning At Abingdon Road Allotments

After the great weekend weather wise it looks like that we are going to have a great week as well, was up and about early today, took this photo at about 5:30am while down the Abingdon Road. Not a sole at the allotments at this time of the morning, but I bet that it will not be to long before a few of the gardeners arrive to avoid working in the warmer parts of the day

Elder Stubbs Allotments

They have a small cafe and store selling locally grown produce, and also manage the allotments, well worth a visit if you are into local fresh products, or a nice warm meal at great prices, with all the proceeds supporting the continuation of the Elder Stubbs charity
