Great little pub in the middle of busy George Street. There is speculation that this pub is going to change hand's shortly, the regulars are hoping that the new owners do not change this place to much when and if a new brewery takes over this place. Have you ever been in The Grapes? I am not that it has had a number of names over the years.

Great little pub in the middle of busy George Street. There is speculation that this pub is going to change hand's shortly, the regulars are hoping that the new owners do not change this place to much when and if a new brewery takes over this place. I am not sure, possibly been in here in the 1970's. It was known as The Grapes back in the 1870's, though I am not sure when it opened or indeed of any other names in the intervening 100 plus years.
I must visit when I'm back over in August. Beer in the Evening gives it 7 points (very good) and the Oxford Pub Guide places it at 3 stars. Hope the new owners don't change too much,
