Birds On Thin Ice
I have seen the Oxford Canal freeze over to a reasonable thickness, but I can not remember seeing the River Thames/Isis freeze over like I have today. Admittedly it is a little thin in the middle, but not to thin as there are a few birds standing in the middle in this photo, you can see Christ Church Meadows in the background. Click on the photo to see it a little larger.

Thank you Sir. I am supposed to stay in Oxford for 3 weeks starting next Sunday, however, you made me feel, through your fantastic pics, that I am already in Oxford.

That's cold!
Nice photo! I can't believe I went for a walk around town with visiting family on Friday and forgot to take my camera.
Lovely photo. It doesn't look cold enough to stay frozen when you get just a few days above freezing.
A lovely winter wonderland photo!
I grew up in Oxford and I cannot recall it being frozen back then. Here in Yorkshire the river Aire was frozen over this last week and I photographed a couple walking in the middle of the Leeds - Liverpool canal
we've been ice-skating on the river Cherwell (the mill stream leading to Kings Mill) for a week around xmas - that's been the first time this was possible since we moved here in 1993!
