The Golden Cross is now a small shopping arcade of Cornmarket leading to Oxfords Covered Market, originally is was a coaching house where in 1735 the English poet Alexander Pope stayed. As you can see from this photo there is major work going on at the moment requiring a lot of scaffolding they have covered pink foam. If you are in the area and need a bite to eat the Pizza Express is recommended, upstairs you can see the original timber work from the 1500's, say hello to the Manager Carlo for me.

The Golden Cross is now a small shopping arcade of Cornmarket leading to Oxfords Covered Market, originally is was a coaching house where in 1735 the English poet Alexander Pope stayed.
