Osney Lock is the closest lock on the River Thames to the City Centre and if you are arrive into Oxford by train it is only a short walk from the train station and can be a great alterative way in to Oxford. Today while out for a ride along the River I stopped off to see the maintenance work that has been going on, as you can see it is a big job. I will post a photo of the lock in operation during the summer so you can see what it normally looks like.

Ahhh, the English rivers and locks. What a dreamy way to travel.
