Lost JoJo In The Snow Boot

HOw do you loose a little boot like this especially as the brand is called JoJo in the Snow?  Saw this sitting on a wall out the front of a property close to an infants school, so I am hoping that the owner found it.  Kid's clothing is so expensive and when you misplace part of a set, I bet is it so upsetting for the little owner, not to mention the parents.

Chatham Road In The Snow

Still snowing in Oxford, and unfortunately I have not been able to get out and about too much around Oxford, so this photo is just of the quiet residential street off the Abingdon Road.  What is going to happen when all this snow starts to melt?

Snow Covered Bikes

When it snows it gets everywhere, and with the city full of bikes I think it looks good on bikes.  This photo was taken out the front of Bike Zone in the city centre.  The good thing about having a bike as your transport you never have to worry about the battery not working in the cold. Be careful riding in the snow everyone.

More Snow Chaos Feared

That was the headline on the Oxford Mail this morning out the front of Nisa Local. I am not sure how much more snow we are expected to get, but I think the council has done a great job of keeping the main roads clear.  I know that it is still slippery out on the side roads and foot paths, so just take it easy, and enjoy it while we have it, course it will soon be gone, and raining again.

Snowy Wytham Street

Well the weather forecasters said that we would have snow in Oxford over night, and look what we have woken up too, snow everywhere.  The whole of the city is covered in about 5cm of snow, and Oxford is looking wonderful.  This is Wytham Street in New Hinksey this afternoon, look at all that snow.

Looks Chilly In Summertown

Hope I have captured the chill in the air in this photo?  It is very cold in Summertown this afternoon, think we might have a little snow in the morning, well that's what the BBC are saying and I think they might be right.

Oxford University Student Union Moved

The Oxford University Student Union was in Thomas Hull House over looking Bonn Square, however when I was walking past today I noticed a newish notice over the University name plaque saying that the offices have now moved.  Not sure why or when, but if you need the Union you need to down Worcester Street.

Oxford HMV Still Open..... At The Moment

Last week it was Jessops the camera store that left the high street, this morning on the news I heard that HMV had been forced in to administration after a slower than expected Christmas and a decline in the traditional music sales.  His Masters Voice began in 1921 and has been part of the British High Street for the last 70 years, I am not sure how long or if HMV have always been on Cornmarket Street in Oxford, however I am hoping that a solution for the current trading conditions can save our Oxford HMV store. It was business as usual when I walked past this morning and took this photo.

Snow And The Postman

Not exactly sure what it is about snow but when we get a little snow like we did over night, it is nice to see some warm familiar sights, like the red Postman's bike leaning up against the wall.  I don't know it is just a typical English scene, bit like the postbox or the red telephone box.  Nice to have a little snow this morning, but it is a little cold out!

Cold And Sunny

Today in Oxford we had a very sunny day but it was one of the coldest days we have had this Winter. I do like a cold winters day when you don't have to go to work and you can get out and enjoy it.  I also like the long shadows you get on these sunny days.

Copa Of Oxford Closed

Copa of Oxford in George Street has closed, but don't worry it is going to reopen on the 21st of January as The Wig and Pen, which was the name of this pub before if become Copa.  So if you want long enough the wheel turns and the old become the new again.  I think this refit is going to be fairly major from all the gear they have been taking in and out.

Early Morning Coach To London Heathrow

Oxford is very well connected to all the major London Airports, this morning I was up early to take a friend to the Gloucester Green Coach station to get a very early flight from London Heathrow.  With a 24 hour service no matter what time your flight is, you can get a coach from Oxford.

Water Levels At Victoria Arms Marston

Well the water levels of all the rivers in and around Oxford are very high at the moment, and this is what it is like along the River Cherwell in front of the Victoria Arms at Marston.  During the summer I remember meeting friends who had just punted up to this popular outdoor beer garden from central Oxford. They had stopped off to celebrate a couple of birthdays and an annual punting trip, where we had lunch is now well and truly underwater.
